Introduction
For PCI Express applications that require dynamic allocation of PCI Express lanes, NXP Semiconductors offers our CBTU0808 PCI Express channel switch. Available in a small 5 x 5 mm TFBGA-48 package, the CBTU0808 has optimized pinning for easy printed circuit board layout. While the CBTU0808 provides high bandwidth, it also has a low latency and preserves signal integrity.
Uses
The CBTU0808 can switch two PCI Express lanes to one of two PCI Express connector slots. For example, a x16 PCI Express slot on a motherboard can be re-configured as two x8 PCI Express slots by using four CBTU0808 channel switches. In a notebook computer, the CBTU0808 can switch the PCI Express chipset between the notebook computer and a docking station.
